Anaerobic methane-oxidizing enrichment cultures at 70 degrees Celsius were established from hydrothermally-heated deep-sea sediments from Guaymas Basin (Gulf of California). The microbial community consists of consortia of Ca. Methanophagales (ANME-1) and Thermodesulfobacteria. High-quality metagenome-assembled genomes were obtained after long-read DNA sequencing (PacBio).
