The Drosophila ananassae genome was sequenced to 9-fold coverage by Agencourt Bioscience Corporation. The Drosophila ananassae whole genome shotgun (WGS) project has the project accession AAPP00000000. This version of the project (01) has the accession number AAPP01000000, and consists of sequences AAPP01000001-AAPP01020550. Several D. ananassae genome assemblies have been generated by different groups using alternate assemblers and a list of these can be found here. These alternate assemblies were combined and reconciled into the official (CAF1) assembly (AAPP00000000). The assembly was annotated using several automated gene prediction programs, and the results were combined into a consensus GLEAN set (Drosophila 12 Genomes Consortium 2007).
