The World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) was a part of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) which used resources from nearly 30 countries to make unprecedented in-situ and satellite observations of the global ocean between 1990 and 1998 and to observe poorly-understood but important physical processes.
This dataset provides sea level data collected in "delayed mode", using coastal tide gauges and deep sea bottom pressure recorders. Data have been assembled and quality controlled from approximately 160 coastal tide gauge sites and 50 deployments of deep sea bottom pressure recorders. Data extends back in time as far as possible, in a few cases back to the early 1900s.
世界海洋环流实验(World Ocean Circulation Experiment,WOCE)是世界气候研究计划(World Climate Research Programme,WCRP)的组成部分。该项目依托近30个国家的资源,于1990年至1998年间开展了史无前例的全球海洋原位与卫星观测,以研究此前认知不足但至关重要的海洋物理过程。
本数据集提供采用“延迟模式”采集的海平面数据,所用观测设备包括沿岸验潮仪与深海海底压力记录仪。数据集整合了约160个沿岸验潮站以及50套深海海底压力记录仪的观测数据,并完成了质量控制流程。数据的时间跨度尽可能追溯至最早的观测记录,部分案例可回溯至20世纪初期。
