De-identified survey data supporting the article “How social compensation design drives older adults’ acceptance of smart-home social media.” The dataset contains responses from 855 older adults in China and includes measures of social compensation design, perceived benefit, perceived enjoyment, social privacy concerns, general acceptance, and demographic and control variables. Access to the data file is restricted because of participant privacy and informed-consent limitations.
