Perth Metropolitan Wetland Conservation and Heritage Ramsar Programme - Phase 1

The project will provide needed conservation efforts in protecting the wetlands within the Perth Metropolitan area; this includes world listed Ramsar wetlands. These wetlands are important ecosystems for various fauna that migrate and also that reside at the wetlands. The Green Army team’s efforts will revegetate, weed manage, water quality test, site prepare, conduct fauna surveys and remove debris from the project sites. The activities from this project will help protect endangered species such as the Australian Bittern, Native Bee and support the near threatened Long Necked Turtle as well as international migratory species. Revegetation and weed management will be key to the conservation efforts.

本项目将为珀斯都会区内的湿地保护提供必要的保育支持，涵盖列入世界名录的拉姆萨尔湿地（Ramsar Wetlands）。这些湿地是众多迁徙与常驻野生动物的关键栖息生态系统。绿色军团志愿团队将开展植被恢复、杂草治理、水质检测、场地筹备、野生动物调查及项目场地杂物清理等工作。本项目的各项活动将助力保护澳大利亚麻鳽（Australian Bittern）、本土蜜蜂等濒危物种，同时为近危长颈龟（Long Necked Turtle）及国际迁徙物种提供生存支撑。植被恢复与杂草治理将是本次保育工作的核心环节。
