Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery Faunal Collection

\n\nThe Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery is the leading repository of natural\nhistory collections in Tasmania.\n\nThe zoological collections serve as taxonomic reference specimens, vouchers\nfor biogeographical data and include irreplaceable specimens of extinct\nanimals and historically significant items.\n\nTMAGas zoology collection of over 125,000 specimens represents the diversity\nof the Stateas fauna. This includes important type specimens, historical\ntaxidermy and rare and extinct animals such as the Thylacine (the Tasmanian\nTiger) and Tasmanian Emu.\n\nThe research collection is speciman-based and also includes tissue samples for\nmolecular research.\n\n

TMAG馆藏的动物学标本逾125000件，全面展现了塔斯马尼亚州的动物群多样性，其中包含重要的模式标本、历史剥制标本，以及袋狼（Thylacine，俗称塔斯马尼亚虎）和塔斯马尼亚鸸鹋等珍稀及已灭绝物种标本。

该研究馆藏以实体标本为基础，同时配备用于分子研究的组织样本。
