New insight on the neglected zoonotic parasite Onchocerca lupi: from OMICS analyses to diagnosis

We generated whole genome sequencing data from an adult specimen of O. lupi isolated from a dog living in Portugal using PacBio long reads. The goal of this study is to provide resources for understanding the biology, population genetics, and phylogeography of this parasite. The data here produced enabled the de novo assembly of the O. lupi nucelar genome, the mitochondrial genome and the genome of the Wolbachia endosymbiont. This submission provides access to both raw sequencing reads and associated genome assemblies to support open data reuse.
