GENRE TRANSFORMATION IN 21ST-CENTURY ENGLISH LITERATURE

This thesis examines genre transformation in 21st-century English literature with particular focus on narrative hybridity, postmodern and post-postmodern aesthetics, and the impact of globalization and digital culture on contemporary literary forms. The study explores how traditional genre boundaries are increasingly destabilized through the integration of historical narrative, speculative fiction, psychological realism, and metafictional techniques within single textual frameworks. Special attention is paid to the ways in which digital communication, transnational cultural exchange, and shifting reader expectations influence narrative structure and thematic development.
