Strategic noise maps have been introduced as part of the transposition into French law of the European Directive 2002/49/EC of 25 June 2002 on the assessment and management of environmental noise. They are defined by Articles L.572-2 et seq. of the Environmental Code. Diagnostic tools are designed to enable the overall assessment of exposure to noise in the environment, particularly for noise generated by transport infrastructure and industrial activities. The data N_BRUIT_CBS_075 refers to strategic noise maps relating to the Paris department, whether they are currently in force or older than they have been able to replace.
