Number of aircraft certified for traffic by the Federal Aviation Office in Germany

Aircraft, helicopters, balloons, motor sailors or sailplanes are entered in the aircraft register by the Federal Aviation Office’s traffic licence. Aircraft shall be given their registration number. German aircraft, helicopters, airships, motor sailors and manned balloons carry the Federal flag and the letter D as national signs and four further letters as a special marking (registration mark). The licensing of air sports equipment, such as ultralight aircraft and model aircraft, is carried out by the aeronautical associations.航空器、直升机、气球、动力滑翔机及滑翔机的注册登记，需经联邦航空办公室（Federal Aviation Office）核发交通执照后方可办理，完成登记的航空器将被分配专属注册号。德国籍航空器、直升机、飞艇、动力滑翔机与载人气球，须以联邦国旗及字母D作为国籍标识，并额外搭配四个字母作为特殊注册标记。航空运动器材（如超轻型航空器与航空模型）的执照核发工作，由各航空协会负责承办。
