Much of the correspondence deals with Crown reserves and matters relating to them which was one of the main functions of the Correspondence Branch of the Department of Crown Lands and Survey (VA 538).Details given are the name of the correspondent and some indication of the subject and the registration or reference number of the correspondence. Further research into the record-keeping system is required.
