simultaneous partial nitrification and denitrification (SPND) process was investigated in a hybrid sequencing batch biofilm reactor (HSBBR) fed with synthetic wastewater with 1.2% salinity. Different anaerobic/aerobic (An/Ae) duration were selected for evaluating the removal performance of contaminants and the succession of microbial community in the reactor.To reveal the microbial community and its succession during the experiment, S-sludge and biofilm samples were collected simultaneously from the reactor at the end of Periods 1, 5 and 7, corresponding to An/Ae hour ratios of 0/6.5, 2/4.5 and 3/3.5, respectively.
