Complete genome of Desulfoferula mesophilus strain 12FAK

A novel sulfate-reducing bacterium, Desulfoferula mesophilus strain 12FAK, was enriched and isolated from the sediment of a brackish lake (Lake Akkeshi, Hokkaido, Japan). Here we use short- and long-read genome sequencing of DNA from the pure culture of strain 12FAK to close the genome of the novel strain, as part of a larger study to characterize strain 12FAK.
