The present study provided evidences at three levels of spectral, transcriptomics and protein, to determine the fact of OEC photo-inactivation under excess irradiation as well as the activation of chlororespiration under darkness. Furthermore, based on the assumption that chlororespiration was activated to participate in the recovery of photo-inactivated OEC, the physiological role of chlororespiration was verified.
