Using muons to investigate the relationship between magnetism and kagome superconductivity in YRu3Si2

Newly discovered kagome superconductors have the potential to provide a direct link between magnetism, topology, and their superconducting properties. For example, AV3Sb5 (A = K, Rb, Cs) contain unconventional chiral charge order which breaks time-reversal symmetry, which directly influences the conventionality of the superconducting state. We propose to study a polycrystalline sample of the kagome superconductor YRu3Si2 using muons to search for time-reversal symmetry breaking in both the superconducting state and a possible higher temperature charge order state. We also propose to study the mixed state using muons to investigate the superconducting pairing state.
