Groundwater Pumping Dataset Description This dataset compiles groundwater extraction records associated with landslide activity, including the following fields: WellName, Date, PumpageGP (wgp), lon, lat, landslide, and Depth (inch). All data were manually extracted and compiled from publicly available reports published on the Rancho Palos Verdes California official website (Land Movement Updates: https://www.rpvca.gov/1707/Land-Movement-Updates). Due to the nature of manual extraction and variability in report formats, the dataset may contain omissions or inconsistencies. Field Descriptions WellNameIdentifier of each pumping well. Wells with names beginning with “DDW” represent groundwater extraction from deeper confined aquifers, whereas all other wells correspond to extraction from relatively shallow unconfined aquifers. DateObservation date of groundwater extraction, reported in YYYY/MM/DD format. PumpageGP (wgp)Cumulative groundwater pumping volume at the corresponding date. The unit is expressed in 10⁴ gallons (10⁴ gp). For reference:10,000 gallons ≈ 37.85 m³. lon, latGeographic coordinates of each well. Locations were estimated based on officially published well location maps and should be considered approximate. landslideIdentifier of the landslide sub-block in which the well is located, representing spatial association with different kinematic units of the landslide. Depth (inch)Pumping depth associated with each well, reported in inches. Notes The dataset represents a curated compilation rather than a direct machine-readable export and may therefore be subject to incomplete temporal coverage. Spatial coordinates are approximations derived from map interpretation rather than surveyed positions. This dataset is intended to support analysis of the relationship between groundwater extraction and landslide dynamics.
