Fungal and Bacterial composition from biocide free and biocide containing facades NGS

This project aims to characterize and compare the composition of fungal and bacterial communities present on building facades with and without biocide treatment. Surface samples were collected from both biocide-free and biocide-containing external facades. DNA was extracted and subjected to high-throughput amplicon sequencing targeting the bacterial 16S rRNA gene and fungal ITS region. The dataset enables assessment of the impact of biocidal compounds on the diversity and structure of microbial communities colonizing building materials.
