ETA: Efficient Time-Aware Data Auditing Scheme Supporting Batch Verification for Decentralized Storage Networks

With the continuous growth of user data and the increasing emphasis on storage security, decentralized outsourcing storage has emerged as an effective and innovative solution. In decentralized storage networks, while the pay-as-you-go mechanism based on storage duration offers considerable convenience to users, it also introduces new challenges for auditing outsourced data based on storage time. Specifically, a critical issue is how to efficiently verify mixed storage timestamp files while mitigating the excessive consumption of computational and storage resources. To address this challenge, we propose an efficient time-aware data auditing scheme supporting batch verification for decentralized storage networks, named ETA. This scheme leverages polynomial techniques and accumulators to design a batch verification strategy, which aims to efficiently support the verification of data across various storage timestamps. Furthermore, we introduce a decentralized identity-based authentication strategy to facilitate efficient user identity verification. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, we have developed a decentralized storage data auditing framework utilizing blockchain technology and conducted extensive experimental evaluations. Experimental results show that, compared to state-of-the-art solutions, our approach significantly reduces both computational and storage overhead, while demonstrating excellent performance in batch verification efficiency.
