资源简介:
These data are a direct replicate of the data in Diener et al. (2001) (Related Materials 2). A total of 188 female undergraduates attending a women's university in Tokyo participated in the study. Two scenarios were presented using an online survey system, and participants were asked to answer questions about each. Participants were randomly assigned to either the positive or negative scenario condition. In these conditions, participants were presented with one scenario with no extension added to the common parts of the scenarios and one with an extension added. They answered two questions about the characters' well-being in each scenario on a nine-point scale. The order of the no-extension and with-extension conditions was counterbalanced. The factorial design was 2 (valence: positive/negative) × 2 (additional information: with/without extension). The valence factor is a between-participants factor and the additional information factor is a within-participants factor. Variables in the data are as follows: “id” (participant ID), “date_created” (response start time), “date_modified” (response end time), condition (experimental condition; -1: negative, +1: positive), “age” (participant age), “gender” (participant gender: 0: male. 1: female), “department” (faculty affiliation), “rate11” (desirability rating for the no-extension condition), “rate12” (happiness rating for the no-extension condition), “rate21” (desirability rating for the with-extension condition), “rate22” (happiness rating for the with-extension condition), “raten” (happiness score for the no-extension condition), “ratea” (happiness score for the with-extension condition).
