a bacterium shows resistance to sulfonamide antibiotics, was isolated from a drinking water source in China. It has a strong resistant ability to 200mg/L sulfamethoxazole (SMX) in the LB medium. Moreover, this strain could tolerate large broad range of sulfonamide antibiotics, such as 200mg/L sulfadimethoxine (SAT), sulfadiazine (SDZ), sulfathiazole (STZ), sulfanilamide (SAM), sulfamerazine (SMR), sulfamethizole (SMT), sulfamethazine (SMZ), sulfamethoxine (STX), sulfonamide (SFM), sulfoxylate(SFL). Besides, it also tolerate this sulfonamides with the presence of 200mg/L streptomycin.
