Data on holotypes of Tracheophyta (collection and herbarium)

Data on holotypes of Tracheophyta from GBIF set of occurrence records (https://doi.org/10.15468/dl.ntadjy), which was defined as a dataset documenting the presence of Tracheophyta, meeting the criteria: ‘Basis of record’ = Preserved specimen, and ‘Type status’ = Holotype, collected after 1799. The second dataset was provided by Index Herbariorium (https://sweetgum.nybg.org/science/ih/). It comprised the data on scientific herbaria registered in this database, including their location (coordinates, country) and year of foundation. Both databases were joined using herbarium acronym as a matching element. When the database did not contain coordinates for the collection site, the centroid of the country where the specimen was collected as the location was used (the exception was a set of holotypes collected in Hawaii, the centroid for this archipelago, instead of the centroid for the USA, was used).
