资源简介:
The research in Tamanrasset fit into DEPA’s broader aims by showcasing how indigenous cultural practices can serve as alternative educational tools for fostering peace and inclusivity. The Tuareg’s use of Imzad music, poetry, and storytelling enriched the project’s efforts to document diverse knowledge systems and emphasised the importance of preserving endangered oral traditions in Algeria as part of a decolonised educational framework.
The data reveals the central role of poetry, Imzad music, and oral storytelling in Tuareg culture as powerful mediums for conflict resolution and educating for peace in informal educational contexts, fostering collective reflection, and instilling values of cooperation and respect. The Imzad, for example, played exclusively by women, is seen as a symbol of peace and communal identity. The participants highlighted its role in calming tensions during traditional gatherings and promoting dialogue. The study also emphasises concerns over the loss of these traditions as younger generations increasingly disconnect from them due to modernisation.
