Spectral Library of Parthenium hysterophorus (Famine Weed) and co-occuring species in Ndumo Game Reserve, South Africa

The spectral dataset for P. hysterophorus and its co-occurring plant species, i.e., Acacia Trees (AT), Grasses (GS) and Other Plant Species (OPS), was collected using Spectral Evolution spectroradiometer at Ndumo Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. The spectroradiometer was consistently held at 50 cm from the canopy, resulting in spectral measurements with a circular Instantaneous FOV (IFOV) with a radius of about 11.08 cm. The spectral signatures were collected over homogeneous Elementary Sampling Unit (ESU), i.e., 1×1 m plots, consisting of either juvenile P. hysterophorus or its co-occurring species. Each ESU spectra were made up of an average of atleast three to five spectral measurements.
