Supporting dataset for system-scale PCB and hydrocarbon stock quantification in infrastructure-induced sediments of the upper Seine Estuary (France)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains the data supporting the study “Estuarine sediment as a major contaminant reservoir: system-scale quantification of PCB and hydrocarbon stocks and implications for remobilization risk” (Barrois et al., submitted to Journal of Hazardous Materials Advances). The files include the raw and processed data used to quantify polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) and total hydrocarbon (THC) stocks in an infrastructure-induced sediment deposit, the Legarée mudflat, in the upper Seine Estuary (France), and to extrapolate contaminant stocks from this site to two additional depositional environments. The dataset consists of three main files: (i) “Barrois_etal_Additional_Tables.xlsx”, an Excel file compiling five tables including ages estimates, destructive measurements of PCBs, THC and dry bulk density (DBD) along the master core, predicted values derived from hyperspectral imaging (HSI) models along all cores, and surface-normalized contaminant stocks and sediment thickness values within the 3D model of the Legarée mudflat; (ii) “Barrois_etal_Thickness_Layers.zip”, a compressed archive containing the sediment thickness rasters for the three studied sites: the Legarée mudflat, the former secondary channel and the former dock basin; and (iii) “Barrois_etal_Read_me.xlsx”, an Excel file detailing all variables and attributes included in the dataset. This dataset is intended to complement the dataset previously provided for the 3D reconstruction and organic carbon stock quantification in the Legarée mudflat (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19686064). As the 3D stratigraphic layers and associated data required to fully recalculate surface-normalized stocks within the Legarée mudflat are not duplicated here, the present dataset does not independently allow replication of the complete site-scale stock calculation workflow. Instead, it provides the contaminant stock and sediment thickness values required to recalculate the empirical stock–thickness relationships and to reproduce their extrapolation to the former secondary channel and the former dock basin. All files are provided in open and interoperable formats, suitable for use in GIS and data analysis environments.
