Biggest legal threats to eSports worldwide in 2021

The eSports industry has boomed in recent years, in no small part thanks to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which forced people to seek alternative forms of entertainment during the widescale cancelation of professional sporting events. During a survey of eSports executives from across the world in October 2021, around 40 percent of respondents believed that intellectual property rights and licensing issues posed a substantial legal risk to the eSports industry.
