A 6-bp deletion in exon 8 of the TYRP1 gene underlies brown coat color development in Zhaotong pigs (PRJCA039178)

Zhaotong pig (ZT), an indigenous pig breed in China, presents two coat color types: black and brown. However, the key genes and regulatory mechanisms responsible for coat color variation remain unknown.Our study is aim to elucidate the molecular genetic mechanisms underlying coat color formation in ZTs.
