资源简介:
Here we present lake-sediment records of Arctic black carbon (BC) from the Lake El’gygytgyn and Lake Levinson-Lessing sediment cores spanning the past ~1.5 million years and 50,000 years, respectively. Wildfire emissions are critical unknowns in climate-model predictions under a warming climate, particularly the relationship of large-scale biomass burning and BC emissions to climate forcing. These long-term BC records from Arctic lake sediments enhance our understanding of climate and biomass-burning linkages over different climate states. These BC measurements were made using a conventional Single Particle Soot Photometer (SP2) (Chellman et al., 2018). They should be considered preliminary so the user is strongly encouraged to contact J. McConnell (joe.mcconnell@dri.edu) or N. Chellman (nathan.chellman@dri.edu) before downloading the Lake El’gygytgyn data and contact M. Arienzo (monica.arienzo@dri.edu) before downloading the Lake Levinson-Lessing data.
