Effect of carnauba (Copernicia prunifera) straw application on soil microbial communities across different depths in tropical Brazil

This dataset contains amplicon sequencing data of bacterial (16S rRNA V4 region) and fungal (ITS1 region) communities from agricultural soils in Piaui, Brazil. The study investigated the impact of long-term application of carnauba (Copernicia prunifera) straw as an organic amendment on soil microbial diversity and community structure across four depth intervals (0-2 cm, 2-5 cm, 5-10 cm, and 10-20 cm). Soil samples were collected from experimental plots with and without annual straw application to evaluate how plant residues influence microbial assemblages, nutrient cycling, and interkingdom interactions in tropical agroecosystems.
