Three Essays on the Effects of Climate-Related Disclosures on Investor Judgments

Several jurisdictions have introduced regulatory requirements mandating climate-related disclosures. Focusing on the regulatory development of climate-related disclosures, this thesis, which comprises three experimental studies, examines whether and how climate-related disclosures influence investors’ judgments. This thesis aims to provide evidence to regulators and listed entities engaging in climate-related financial disclosure regarding how different disclosure attributes influence investors’ willingness to invest. As regulatory requirements for climate-related disclosures are relatively new, this research addresses an important and timely issue.
