Digital Archive from Archaeological Works at the Land at Palmerston Heights, Seaton Neighbourhood, Plymouth, Devon, January-March 2024

This collection comprises images, site records, and GIS data from an archaeological monitoring and recording and historic building analysis at land at Palmerston Heights, Seaton Neighbourhood, Plymouth, Devon. This work was undertaken by ISCA Archaeology between January and March 2024. A Second World War gun emplacement was identified by ground workers in December 2023. The historic building assessment has established that the earliest visible remains of the anti-aircraft position within the site dates to the latter stages of the Second World War. The emplacement was still visible on a 1955 aerial photograph and may have sat dormant for some time before it was partially demolished and subsequently overlayed with made ground.
