Erosion Susceptibility Chatham Islands

This dataset has been prepared to support the National Environmental Standard for Commercial Forestry. The ESC is used to identify the susceptibility of land to erosion which is used as the basis for setting resource consent requirements for various plantation forestry activities on different types of land. The national ESC is based on the New Zealand Land Resource Inventory (NZLRI), but there is provision in the NES for MPI to consider new property-scale ESC mapping if it meets established mapping standards.
