Study of phoD gene diversity in tropical agroecosystem

In agriculture, P is limiting nutrient, but microbes and plants have different mechanisms for assimilating soil P, including the release of bacterial phoD gene encoding alkaline phosphatase enzymes, which mineralize organic P into available inorganic P in soil. In this study we investigated the abundance of phoD gene and diversity and studied the relationship between the alkaline phosphatase activity, abundance of phoD gene and diversity with soil available P under different farming practice.
