The baseline study was conducted as part of the evaluation of Avahan phase-3 community mobilization intervention. The study was designed to examine baseline levels of different vulnerabilities and key behavioral indicators (e.g. HIV risk behaviors, social protection, financial security, crisis response) among FSWs. The data was collected in Aug-Oct 2015 across five states of India (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra). A total of 4098 FSWs were interviewed using a structured questionnaire.
