A Scientometric Review regarding FDI in SouthEast Europe for the time period of 2005-2024 Dr. Bitzenis Aristidis, Professor Dr. Koutsoupias Nikos, Professor Department of International & European Studies, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki GREECE Abstract The domain of Foreign Direct Investments in Southeast Europe (FDISE) has experienced significant expansion, thus offering opportunities for systematic and bibliometric assessments. Nevertheless, there remains a notable gap as no bibliometric investigation has been conducted in this area to date. To address this gap, we used bibliometric analysis to analyze published literature and assess its effect within the academic community quantitatively and qualitatively. Our examination concerns 954 articles indexed in Scopus within the FDISE domain, composed by 1794 researchers over the period spanning from 2005 to 2024(Q1). Utilizing the R data analysis package, bibliometrix, we conducted a thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis. Our findings revealed the most active authors and journals, theoretical frameworks, subject emphasis, and current research orientations in the FDISE topic, as well as their impact on business matters. Additionally, we examined the evolution of research paradigms and emergent trends within FDISE areas, identifying numerous prospective avenues for forthcoming inquiry.
