This dataset contains measurements pertaining to three firn cores recovered from Eclipse Icefield (Yukon, Canada) June 2-4, 2023. Cores B501 and B502 were drilled from the surface to depths of 16.2 and 10.9 meters (m), respectively, at 60.844 degrees north (°N), 139.851 degrees west (°W), 0.6m apart from each other, to assess the small-scale spatial variability of near-surface melt features. Core B201 was drilled from the surface to 14.7m depth at 60.835°N, 139.830°W (at a similar elevation ~1.5 kilometers to the southeast). Cores B501 and B502 were drilled in one night over the course of 5 hours (h); core B201 was drilled the following night. The purpose of these data is to characterize the firn at Eclipse Icefield, specifically in terms of its alteration via melting. In particular, this dataset contains density measured in one of the three cores, borehole temperatures from two of the three boreholes, and stratigraphy recorded for all three cores.
