This series was created by the Claims Branch of the Victorian Raiklways and the Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramway Board VA 2964 and the Tram and Bus Division of the Metropolitan Transit Authority VA 1044 to register accident compensation claims. Claims for compensation arising out of the tram and bus operations were referred to the Claims Branch and to the Public Liability Department of the Tram and Bus Division for action. The information recorded includes:- No of Claim- Nature of Injury- Name of Claimant- Address- Date of Claim- Amount of Claim- Date of Summons Received- Solicitor or Person Making Claim
