Microbial diversity of stratified microbial mat

This study focuses on an extensive stratified microbial mat system developed in the hypersaline Laguna Negra. Carbonate microbialites and microbial mats occur along the southeastern shore of this lake. We sliced the prominent stratified microbial mat of the LN following pigmented layers, aiming to have a better and more detailed understanding of the vertical distribution of key phylogenetic and functional groups.
