SBCLTER: Kelp Removal Experiment: Underwater Irradiance Data

This data package reflects two estimates of total daily quanta reaching the seafloor at SBC LTER long term experiment transects. Sensors are mounted on the seafloor at each transect and record instantaneous irradiance in one minute intervals. Data is averaged hourly and integrated throughout the day to provide estimates of total daily quanta reaching the seafloor. Sensors are susceptible to seasonal fouling and a second set of estimates is available that have been corrected for low irradiance values associated with fouling. The instrument used is an MDS-MkV/L Light Intensity Recorder manufactured by Alec Electronics Corporation.
