Transcriptome assemblies from marine haplosclerid species (Phylum Porifera, Class Demospongia) collected in Ireland, with additional data from analyzing actinoporin-like proteins from these and other poriferan genome/transcriptome assemblies

The majority of the data is comprised of new transcriptome assemblies of five Haliclona species. This data was used to identify actinoporin-like proteins (ALPs). Similar proteins were then identified in other species of sponges. Additional data to analyze predicted tertiary structure, individual residues, and phylogenetics of the sponge ALPs are also provided. The H. cinerea, H. oculata, H. simulans, and H. viscosa assemblies were produced with RNA-seq data derived from two individuals. The H. indistincta assembly was produced with RNA-seq data derived from four individuals. Raw RNA-seq data can be accessed at the NCBI BioProject SUB10896290.
