Data for: \"Beyond Regions and Ideology: Using Cultural Theory to Explain Risk Perception in Canada\"

These data and code files are the replication materials for the peer-reviewed article \"Beyond Regions and Ideology: Using Cultural Theory to Explain Risk Perception in Canada\" (Kiss, Montpetit and Lachapelle 2020). This represents the most comprehensive attempt to adapt and apply Cultural Theory to explain risk perception in Canada. The project was the initiative of researchers at Wilfrid Laurier University and the Université de Montréal. The researchers commissioned a large (n=5087) cross-sectional survey drawn from Léger Marketing's representative panel of Canadians. We asked survey respondents questions about their perceptions of risk, policy preferences, demographic questions and other political variables (e.g. party identification, self-reported ideology). The data here include only the subset of variables necessary to replicate the findings in Kiss, Montpetit and Lachapelle 2020. Other data will be released in the medium term as further analysis will be completed.
