Aggregated Descriptive Data on Inclusive and Sustainability-Inclusive Education Literature (2015–2025)

This dataset contains aggregated descriptive statistics derived from a systematic review of 2,729 articles on inclusive education (IE) published between 2015 and 2025. This included 357 studies that specifically addressed sustainable inclusive education (SIE). The dataset shows the methods, trends, and gaps in this literature.The data is organized by various dimensions, including:Year of publication: distribution of articles over the entire study period (2015–2025), with partial data for 2025 (through May 19, 2025).Geographic distribution: distribution of publications at country and region level, with a focus on the top 10 countries and aggregated data for "other" countries grouped into five regions (North America, Oceania, Europe, Africa, Asia) to reduce cell sparsity.Research methods: distribution of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods.Sample groups: Categorization of study participants into five common groups: Educators, students, students with special needs, school staff, and community stakeholders.Research areas: Distribution across academic disciplines, with the top 10 areas listed. Note that a single publication may belong to multiple research areas.Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Classification of articles based on their primary SDG focus, grouped into four clusters: SDG4 (Good Education), Social SDGs (SDG1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 16), Environmental SDGs (SDG12, 13, 14, 15), and Economic SDGs (SDG7, 8, 9, 11, 17).Keywords: The 10 most frequently recurring keywords are listed. Note that keywords may be associated with multiple publications.This dataset serves as a complementary resource to the main research article, and provides detailed descriptive results that support the binomial GLM (logit linkage) analyzes conducted in the study.File information: The dataset is provided in an Excel file named "Aggregated Data.xls".The primary data tables are located on the sheet named "Data".Detailed notes, definitions, and explanations for each category and dimension can be found on the "ReadMe" sheet in the Excel file.This repository also includes the completed PRISMA 2020 Checklist as supplementary material. The checklist provides a transparent account of the reporting standards and methodological rigor followed in this systematic review.
