Lepidoptera records from Northern Austria 1900-2022

The data contain 248,018 single records of 2,266 lepidopteran species from 1900 to 2022 that were collected across an altitudinal range from 380 to 3105 m asl. For 247,371 records of 2,264 species, the exact date (day, year) as well as the exact place of capture (place of sampling converted to a GPS-coordinate) was available. The coordinates were recalculated to altitude at a precision of about 15 m.The data also contain the observed annual time series for all species as well as kernel density smoothed time series with a bandwidth of 15 days. Time series and kernel estimates are from cumulated data of two time windows (1960-1990 and 2000-2022) and three altitudinal bands (&lt;800 m asl., 800-1500 m asl., and &gt;1500 m asl.).The Fortran Source code file contains the code to generate time series and kernel density estimates from the data. The code call several additional standard statistics and file sorting routines not provided with this file.<br>
