资源简介:
This dataset derives from a qualitative PhD study examining whether existing support for looked after young people (LAYP) adequately meets their sexual health and relationships needs, and how communication and service provision within the care system might be improved. The project explored how sexual health discussions are shaped within local authority care placements, including the role of different care providers (residential workers, foster carers and social workers), and whether characteristics such as connectedness, monitoring and supervision influence young people’s access to information and services. Data were collected through 54 in-depth qualitative interviews conducted between August and December 2011 with looked after young people aged 14–18, care leavers aged 16–23, and residential workers, foster carers and social workers in one Scottish local authority. Interviews were analysed thematically, enabling comparison of perspectives across participant groups. The dataset consists of qualitative interview data and associated research materials, and provides detailed insight into sexual health communication practices, service use, and the contextual factors influencing sexual health support for looked after young people. This dataset is anonymised.
