*excluding the index case. **Mesenteric lymph node. Official screening tests on posterior brain stem were only performed in animals older than 18 months by a state accredited laboratory. In parallel, PrPSc detection by immunohistochemistry and ELISA (Biorad TeSeE sheep/goat®,) was performed in our premises. In some cases samples were not tested because they were either missing or of insufficient amount.
