GDF-15 and Hepcidin Profiles Across HBB Genotypic Groups in Adults with Transfusion-Dependent β-Thalassemia Major: A Multi-Ethnic Descriptive Study from Indonesia

This dataset contains pseudoanonymized genotype and biomarker data from 90 adult patients with transfusion-dependent β-thalassemia major enrolled at Airlangga University Hospital, Surabaya, Indonesia, between October and November 2025. Variables included: Sample ID (pseudoanonymized: S001–S090) HBB genotype group (IVS-I-5/CD-26; CD-35/CD-26; Other/Rare/Unknown) HBB mutation pattern (22 distinct patterns identified) Serum GDF-15 concentration (pg/mL, quantified by ELISA) Serum Hepcidin-25 concentration (ng/mL, quantified by ELISA) All patient identifiers have been removed.
