microRNAs are post transcriptional regulators involved in several biological processes. The main objective of this project is to identify all the microRNAs involved in the regulation of the cardiac differentiation from human pluripotent stem cells. The final goal is to understand RNA networks related to cardiac lineage commitment during human embryonic development. Overall design: Human embryonic stem cells were differentiated towards mesoderm linage and cardiomyocytes. We performed small RNA sequencing using an Illumina platform of three different cells populations: human embryonic stem cells, an early mesoderm progenitor and a cardiac progenitor cells. Each population was studied in triplicate.
