Metagenomic analysis of agricultural and poultry production environments

This project investigates the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance genes and the structure of bacterial communities in diverse agricultural and poultry production environments. Samples include poultry litter, agricultural soils, the rhizosphere of Sechium edule (chayote), and water and sediments from irrigation ponds. Shotgun metagenomic sequencing was performed to characterize microbial diversity, functional potential, and the presence of antimicrobial resistance genes across these environments.
