General linearized mixed models (GLMM) to test whether females were more likely to mate with one type of male in mate competition experiments.

Trial number was set as a random effect. A multinomial logistic regression with a generalized logit link and a Satterthwaite approximation and estimation of robust variance were used to account for low sample size and non-normal distributions. The exponential coefficient gives the number of times females are more likely to mate with the superior mate competitor type (the haploid in every competition, or tKDL in the diploid-diploid competitions). Significant results are indicated with an asterisk (*).
