This dataset is derived from a research paper under the project studying molecular regulation and environmental stress response mechanisms of secondary forest growth. The core content of this dataset focuses on the regulatory mechanism that two MADS-box genes in poplar, VCM1 and VCM2, control wood formation by mediating auxin concentration. Specifically, VCM1 and VCM2 directly regulate the expression of the auxin transporter PIN5. PIN5 transports auxin from the cytoplasm into the endoplasmic reticulum, which reduces the cytoplasmic auxin concentration, alters the intensity of auxin signaling within the vascular cambium region, and thus regulates the mitotic activity of vascular cambium and xylem differentiation.
