Mining Indicators

This is the core dataset we pulled variables from for our study. It is a state-level panel dataset integrating annual economic and environmental variables related to sand and gravel mining (SGM) from 2000 to 2024. Key variables include the value and production of SGM and other minerals, the number and status of mines, SGM end use, and key state-level contextual variables such as population and political control.
